Distributed data stores are the basis for building effective information systems from the server configuration level of the data processing center (data processing center) to the creation of cloud computing scale solutions. Construction principles, methods and technologies for creating, deploying and maintaining distributed data stores are the basis for scaling modern web solutions, web applications and web services. Currently, there are many software systems and services for building large-capacity and Internet-accessible data warehouses, which provide opportunities to increase the security of information systems, improve their reliability, and also provide means for scaling project solutions. Knowledge and competence regarding the choice of architecture for the construction of modern data storage facilities and the implementation of industrial systems based on them are relevant and necessary in the training of computer science specialists.

The goal of the educational discipline "Distributed Data Storage" is to form a system of theoretical knowledge and acquire practical skills and abilities in the application, debugging and administration of systems based on distributed data storage technologies and the design of appropriate reliable and economically attractive systems for storing large volumes of data.
